Loving Well

“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.” James 3:17 NKJV

Have you ever walked away from a conversation or an interaction feeling unsettled or uneasy?

How do people feel when they walk away from you? Are your words and actions showing the good fruit produced in you by the Spirit? Are others seeing God’s love shining through you?

God wants us to love His people as He loves us. Connecting with Him and His Word gives us the wisdom to do this. We are called to show His love to everyone we come in contact with, even those who can be hard to love. If we stay connected to Him, pray for wisdom, and seek the gifts of the Spirit, we will find that loving others becomes natural. By modeling our lives after this Scripture, we can truly love all people; we can be peaceable, gentle, yielding, and full of mercy.

Our interactions, whether brief or long-lasting, should leave others saying, “I want what she has!” May the fruit you produce be so good that others seek out Jesus to find the love that can only be found in Him.

Lord, may each interaction I have leave people feeling overwhelmed by Your love, a love freely given on the cross over 2,000 years ago. I pray that I produce good fruit that welcomes everyone into Your presence. When others walk away from me, may they seek to know You because they want what I have, which is You, Lord. Thank you for loving me and showing me what true love is. May I share that love with everyone I meet. Amen
