God Is My Hope
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
From a young age, God was preparing Joseph to be used to preserve his family. He even revealed part of His plan through Joseph’s dreams (Genesis 37:5–11).
But this was only the beginning of many trials Joseph would face before those dreams were fulfilled. He was sold by his brothers, falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife, and spent years in prison. Yet through it all, Joseph trusted God, and God was with him every step of the way. God even gave Joseph the ability to interpret the dreams of others, which eventually led to his promotion to a position of great influence, where he could help preserve the nation of Israel.
Joseph’s story reminds us that even when the path is painful or unclear, God is still working. Joseph kept his eyes on God and trusted that everything he endured was part of God’s greater plan.
I’ve faced many trials in my own life when I couldn’t see a light at the end of the tunnel. But looking back, I can clearly see that God had a plan. By His grace, I was able to stay joyful through it all, trusting that He would take care of us, and He did.
Do you see God’s plan for you? Can you find joy even in the midst of trouble? If not, try to refocus your thoughts. Keep your eyes on Him and trust in His good plans. Be confident that your future and your hope are safe in His hands.
“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.” Jeremiah 17:7 (NLT)
