Intentional Hearts, Extraordinary Christmas
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
As the pace of the season quickens and our calendars fill with holiday plans, it’s easy to prepare for everything except the one thing our hearts need most. In the swirl of gatherings, shopping, and traditions, have you paused long enough to make a plan for staying rooted in the Word of God? When our normal routines are interrupted by the rush of extra activities, our daily time in Scripture can quietly slip to the side without us even noticing.
Our time and attention are valuable, and we need to be intentional in how we spend them and to whom we give them. This time of year makes it so easy to get swept up in all the “doing.” But let’s not forget Who we are celebrating… and why. Jesus because He alone is worthy.
God Himself chose to wrap His greatness and glory in human flesh and enter our world as a humble baby so He could dwell among us. A great host of angels rejoiced at the miracle of His coming. Jesus is the Word made flesh, and when we spend time in His presence through His Word we too have the privilege of beholding His glory, full of grace and truth.
Ladies, let’s choose to have an extraordinary Christmas this year by giving our time and attention to the One who is worthy. When we intentionally draw near to Him, we can experience the fullness of joy His coming brings.
Father,
Thank You for the precious gift of Your Son, the Word made flesh, who stepped into our world so we could know Your heart. In this busy season, quiet our minds and steady our hearts. Help us set our gaze on Jesus, Your glory wrapped in humanity, full of grace and truth.
Draw us back to Your Word daily. Guard our hearts from distraction and from rushing past what matters most. Renew within us a deep hunger for Your presence, a delight in Your voice, and a desire to behold Your glory in every ordinary moment.
