Reflecting the Light of Christ

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.”  Matthew 5:14-15 (NKJV)

Christmas is a season marked by twinkling lights, glowing candles, and the sparkle of beautiful ornaments, but the greatest light of all came quietly in a stable in Bethlehem. Jesus, the Light of the World, stepped into darkness so that we might walk in His truth, hope, and love.

As women, we have a unique calling to reflect that light not just during the holiday season, but every day. When we spend time with Him in His Word, worship Him in prayer, and extend His love to those around us, we become beacons of hope and joy in a world that so often feels shadowed. Just as the wise men followed the star and found the Christ Child, we too are invited to follow Him closely and share the light we have received.

This Christmas, consider how you can intentionally reflect the Light of Christ in your home, your workplace, and your community. Perhaps it’s a kind word to a friend, a delicious meal for a neighbor, or simply pausing to pray for someone in need. The smallest acts, when done in love, shine brightly in ways we may never fully see.

Let this season remind us that Christmas is not only about celebrating Jesus’ birth, it’s about letting His light shine through us so that others may see His glory.
