God Is The Calm In The Midst Of The Storm

The Lord desires for us to carry a burden for His people

Galatians 6:2

If this is something you already have, then you know what a blessing it is to intercede on behalf of those we love.

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.1 Timothy 2:1.

However, at times it can feel overwhelming, especially when there’s so much happening in our own lives and in the lives of those around us. Sometimes, you may find yourself in what I call “panic prayer” mode. I’ve been there.

What is a panic prayer, you ask? It’s when you come before Jesus with so much on your heart that your words tumble out quickly, jumping from one thing to the next, barely making sense. That’s a panic prayer.

But rest assured, my friend, even in moments of being completely overwhelmed, the Lord knows your heart. Romans 8:26 reminds us: “The Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.”

Even when your words feel jumbled or when you can’t find the words at all, He understands. Ask Him to calm your heart and mind. Invite the Holy Spirit to intercede on your behalf. If you’re sitting at the feet of the Savior, you can be confident that He knows the intentions of your heart.

Thank You, Father God, that I can turn to You at all times. Thank You for knowing my heart better than I do, and for the gift of the Holy Spirit who intercedes for me when I don’t have the words. Amen.
Romans 8:26
